The ofcvom website indicates these are illegal in the UK and other web info says they must CE approved and one UK supplier suggested that if service provider did not object then you would be OK! So then tried a unit from Mobilerepeater.co.uk – was a gift from a close freind – support suggested that the warenttee was invalidated because I cut the plug of the end of the supplied antenna cable so could get through a hole in the wall then fitted the spare plug they supplied for this purpose. On 28/09/2011 considerably unimpressed! I wonder what they will think of next?? !

Hi guys,
Have been looking on into buying a dual-band system for use at home (would like it if it could do 3G as well, but hey-ho!)
However, I came across a stumbling block for 2 reasons:
1) Kit like this must be CE approved for use in europe
2) It appears to be illegal to install and run one of these repeaters within the UK!!! Allegedly upto £5k fine and 51 weeks in prison!! WTF?

Repeater arrived Ok. Fitted it last weekend. All working well… now have 4 bars in my study for the first time! Excellent!
